Hey all,

just wanted to share. Been at this little adventure for years now. Mostly in my noggin, and nothing in practice, but now there’s progress. I’ve got a coop in the backyard, a mini coolerbator and 9 back yard mix eggs brewing from a neighbor. Once I prove the process so to speak I think I’ll be on the lookout for Delaware or Bielefelder depending on local availability.

I wanted a small incubator, for one to prove the process and see if I want to get into it any larger later. Two it was easy for me to source everything and run everything (lights, fans, w1209 thermostat) off of a low voltage power supply from a computer.

Anyways, I appreciate you all, this community, thanks for the information and encouragement.

Hello, could you please be so kind as to share the results? I wanna use this thermostat too

The thermostat functioned well, and was consistent. But it did require calibration at the start of this thing so I recommend another consistent thermostat to calibrate it. Once I calibrated the thermostat I adjusted my heating bulbs multiple times from one to 4 and it functioned flawlessly.

Ended up at 5/9 chicks hatching. Very happy with my results.

Pictures of new hatch required.
So the first out is this little feather footed cockerel. My little chicken supervisor sweetheart of a daughter 😍🥰. A couple pictures of the rest of the gang and then one final photo of the rooster who already knows how to kungfu kick and peck me, though I handle them 2x per day.
