I’m so excited. Our eggs started pipping this morning on day 20 and one already made an appearance. I have 3 more that pipped today. I don’t want to remove the lone chick until it has a friend. That should be ok correct?

How old is the single chick? If it's warm and dry and fluffy it can go in the brooder as long as one side of your brooder is 95 degrees. Congrats!

Since it just hatched today it will be perfectly fine waiting for a bit in the incubator, especially if you have external pips on the other eggs, it's better to wait to keep the humidity more consistent for the pipped chicks. The peeping will also encourage the other chicks to hatch. Chicks can technically wait up to 72 hours after hatch as they will be able to live off of the absorbed yolk but I usually take them out once they're dry and the activity in the incubator has slowed. Congratulations on your first hatch! :celebrate

Thank you! I feel bad since it’s a single chick right now to take it out of the incubator. There’s another that looks like it will hatch over night. There are 2-3 others that have external pips.

Update! 9 out of the 11 have hatched so far. Number 12 had a candeling incident a week into incubation. RIP. I have one egg that hasn’t pipped yet either. Hoping a little more time but if not 10 out of 11 for my first time I’ll take it
