Good day to you, from Iowa!
Plenty cool here and today was D day for Hatch day! So I plugged in the heat lamp above my setting hen and I came home to find two new fluffballs! *revels in excitement for a second*

Also though Momma has an infestation of little bugs. This is new for me, Help! I bought some topical stuff to get rid of them, but I am afraid to do anything due to new hatchlings!
The TINY bugs are to the outside of the feathers as well as along the feather shafts. They are rusty brown colored.

What other information can I provide for some experienced advise.
Thank you for your time and assistance!

Thank you so much for the well wishing!
I am so excited about my new grandbabies

There are two more that are pipped and a good sized hole in a third one!
Go babies go!

Thank you for the advise, I have been scouring online trying to find ideas and advice on external parasites, will start looking into that!
Do you know where one finds it?

Some BYC'ers sell it. I dont trust ebay sellers DE as soemtimes it could just be flour. Maybe some feed stores carry it. You can make some calls to check so you dont waste gas.

I'm next door in Nebraska and can't find DE around here - my inlaws bring me 50 pound bags once or twice a year.

Feed stores are your best bet for cheap de, make sure you get food grade, otherwise on line, but shipping can be costly.

(You probably didn't need a heat lamp - if mom got them to this point she's plenty warm enough)

I will let my fingers do the walking then! At least gas prices are going down now!
Feed stores first, sounds like people use in their gardens also...

Thanks for the info on the heat lamp! Food grade, check!
