First Home Eggs Adopt-an-Egg Hatch a Long!

Pics
Candled, weighed, and marked air cells tonight. Egg 1 from Barn 1 was clear. I cracked it to make sure.

The other 30 eggs are growing! Made a few notes to myself. Now going to refer to the barn & the egg number with a dash to save time. Egg 1-8 was porous, but growing fine.

Quite the range of weight loss. Lowest was egg 1-8 (the porous egg), with only a 1.9% loss so far. Egg 1-16 was only 2%. All other eggs were between 3.4% and 7.6%, except egg 2-9, which has a whopping 13.8% loss. Either I recorded the original weight wrong or it’s an extreme outlier.

I have one question. Extra egg 3 did not have an air cell that I could see. There was a liquidy lighter area that moved around. I don’t know how an air cell could detach from a freshly hatched egg, but I’m guessing that’s what I’m dealing with. I put it upright in the incubator in a single egg carton holder with the bottom cut out. Aside from that, it looks like it is developing normally. Any advice on what to do with it?

Thoughts on my data so far? I looked back on last years hatch, and weight loss was between 3.3% and 6.5% for all eggs I set. Nowhere near the extremes in this hatch.

I have had a couple completely detached from home. No clue how. But does it completely float around or just slide down the egg some.

Last night when turning before bed, I pulled extra egg 3 (sorry @junior67 ) because it had weird dried yellow on it (the one with no visible air cell). I did not crack it since I was literally half asleep, but since I have extra eggs & not enough room I did not want to chance something leaking and ruining any of the other eggs. So 29 eggs left.

@junior67 if you want to pick another egg, that would be great.
