Usually you have to add water to get the humidity high enough. It is fine to put it in a basement. They usually have a more stable temperature.

You need to calibrate the hygrometers.

1. 1/2 cup salt in small glass bowl or coffee cup
2. Add 1/4 cup water to salt and stir into a sludge
3. Put salt/water bowl in large ziploc bag
4. put hygrometer in bag beside (not in) bowl of salt/water
5. seal bag and wait 12 hours.

The hygrometer should (but probably won't) read 75

Mine read 72 so I know I have to add 3 to what it says to get an accurate reading. If it read 85 I would have to subtract 15.

Hope this helps.

the LG are best in a room about 75 degree , heating unit can't keep temp. up if roon is to cool..

Ok so its set at the right temp!!! 99.6 deg!!!! So now the hum is at 49% is that to low or to high? How do i keep that stable? Thanks so much!
