I found my silky lethargic today it’s only 5months old and I think it might have coccidiosis now….. here is a picture of its poop. It has had a pasty butt for two weeks I keep having to clean off it is with 7 others that seem totally fine cooped separately from my other flock. I dosed it on a few drops of poultry cell this morning it’s not eating or drinking now only pecked food a few times. Tried giving it eggs but it’s not able to eat or drink I don’t think anymore. Can I mix a gallon of water with 1.5tsp of corid within hours of giving it the vitamins this morning ???? Uhg I dono what to do. It’s a beautiful NN blue cream silky !

I do not know what this means other than you're asking if you can treat with Corid if you already gave vitamins. I'd go ahead with it since she's so sick, but don't count today's dose as one. In other words, five days and start counting tomorrow.

The poop isn't too unusual to me but the lethargy and not eating does fit with coccidiosis.

Powdered Corid is 1.5 teaspoon per gallon of water. Liquid is 2 teaspoons per gallon of water. Remove access to any other water and discontinue giving vitamins while treating her.

I would treat your other chickens too just in case. Was she new to a pen or has it rained recently there so wet conditions where she travels?

I am so sorry yes I meant treat the chick with Corid after giving the vitamins….. so far so good it started responding within 4 hrs of the treatment in the water ! It’s been eating and also drinking a lot! I will keep with updates. Again sorry for the confusion. I was just so worried bc I gave it vitamins earlier if giving corid would hurt it in any way ….

I actually live in las vegas ….. we had a heat spell that was a bit off too hot too early …and we set misters for the chickens which we have to do here but never this early …I have a 5 year old flock with some younger combined in a seperate but joined fencing coop. These babies were from Florida and we have had them for two n half months we got them from Bobbi Porto they were a few months old and all the rest (7) are fine and have adapted quite well. It’s just this particular one really that has had the liquid stool for roughly two weeks but I have in the past treated for coccidiosis about three years ago ! They all had it so maybe this will just be it…. I sure hope so bc I love this chick! I decided to go ahead and treat the rest today. Everyone is getting corid because the issue I have had before was bad I lost about 5 hens! Out of 25.
