First loss from a hawk.

If this bird had a meal, it might be three or four days before a return visit. Plan on keeping them in as I've mentioned!
Our first hawk experience took us a week, and three dead birds, before we figured it out. And people on this site have lost birds ten to fifteen feet from where they were standing, so don't assume that being out there is enough.

And I love her name!

Thanks again. I will take the advice to heart.

Sorry for your loss. It hurts the most when you lose a special friend....

Try to encourage Crows to hang out on your property. Once a Murder of Crows are established the birds of prey will look for someplace else for lunch....

Crows are attracted by fruit, unsalted peanuts, sunflower seeds, pet kibble and shiny objects. Place the goodies on a cookie sheet/pan on a structure solid enough to hold the weight of the Crows and the pan from tipping over. Keep it high enough so your Chickens can't help themselves. Put the pan out around the same time every day in the morning or early evening, leave the pan out for a few hours then bring it in. Also place water for the Crows near a tree. Crows will be watching and they will get used to your schedule. Once they know there is no danger they will start to help themselves....

Again, I am very sorry for your loss....
