First night out and no door between coop and run question...

I would check on them nightly just to make sure they are going in on their own rather than locking them in. Instead of the heat lamp buy one of the red light bulbs and put it in with them for their night light. Might want to turn the heat lamp off before you go to bed. Mine cried the first night out too, they get over it quick.

OK--third coop modification in as many hours! I went out to check and they were piled up in the run up against the wiring--didn't seem safe at all :( Now they are in the coop--door blocked and preening under the heat lamp. I feel like they are safer and less exposed. And maybe this will teach them to sleep inside!
 
Some have to put in the coop for a few nights before they catch on where to sleep. Had to put mine in twice and they had it, or at least enough the others followed.
