First pip

I would avoid opening the incubator now. Let the chick do his thing. If you can thread a straw down to the water channels and fill any that are empty with a squeeze bottle, that should help. But opening the lid won't raise the humidity.

My humidity has dropped to 54%. Am I still okay?
I would not be comfortable w/54% (Then again I am not comfortable w/ anything under 70%). I use sponges in mine so I'd be rewetting a sponge and sliding it back in. I would say if you do not open the bator you might be ok and when he starts really hatching or others join the pipping the humidity will naturally rise slightly. Or you can slide in a sponge or straw down some water to the wells through a vent.

I used a straw and added warm water. humidity is up to 74 now. Still not much change in the hatching chick. I can hear him and can see him move. I'll let him do his thing for now. Would the humidity being low for a couple hours have hurt much? I have 24 eggs in the incubator and my actual hatch day is tomorrow.

As long as the membrane is nice and white around the pip hole, he/she should be good. Good luck!!

I have two that have pipped today and it's excrutiating!!! lol
I Know the feeling---I took 159 out the hatcher today with about 150 to 200(not looking at my book) more eggs going into the hatcher tomorrow that are due to hatch Sunday. I got chicks EVERY WHERE(14 heated brooders--several unheated pens) so I "Too" stay Real tensed---Not really---LOL. But my feed bill is climbing and Climbing and climbing!!
