The grower/ finisher? They do not like the layer pellets. I think I'm going to have to run it through the food processor or something.Amy, you can keep them on the same feed and just buy a bag of oyster shell for the pullets, if that would be easier.
The "experts" say no. I don't get anxious until I have a handful in there getting wild....lolIs it hurting anything to have the new chick moving the others around?
It does not hurt in my incubator---never has----example 122 eggs in 121 hatched, 78 eggs in 78 hatched 160 eggs in 156 hatched etc, etc----With eggs rolling "E V E R Y" where. Is it hurting anything to have the new chick moving the others around?
As soon as my first pullet lays a egg---they all (that are that age) are switched over to layer. My chicken's do not care for the pellets-----I always get the crumble layer. To help you get through that bag---You can take what ever you feed them at the time and soak it in water for a while---then feed them. Mine llove it.The grower/ finisher? That's what I did was switched them all.(Except my special needs roo.) I didn't see the crumble layer there. I'll have to look closer next time. I can say they do not like pellets. I'm just going to run it through the food processor tomorrow. As soon as my first pullet lays a egg---they all (that are that age) are switched over to layer. Great! This is so exciting! So far the one that hatched and the other pip are both jersey Giants. Hopefully the speckled Sussex and French cooper Marans are just around the corner. Day 21 is tomorrow.
