Hello all !
Just dropping a little message to say thank you for this site !
I have spent the last week browsing through and reading as much as possible.
Just over a week ago my mental health went a bit funny and I managed to impulsively buy hatching eggs and an incubator !
The incubator was a cheap china one which didnt work when set up so ventured into building my own . Have it all set up and running and my purchases silkie/sizzle eggs are in on day two .
I have never owned chickens before so I'm trying to learn so much . Daughter also wanted to add two eggs from the shopping to see if they will hatch too Haha!
I have three children who are just as excited as I am and the project of building our own incubator seems to have helped my eldest with her anxiety already which is amazing ! Shes designing a coop for the garden and is turning the whole project into a school science project which is fantastic !
I hope it's ok to add a picture of my set up . I'm rather proud of it but if theres anything noticeably wrong please let me know
I intend to candle on day 6 to check for progress and again between days 10-12 .
I have been turning the eggs 3 times a day .
