May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

No pips or cracks will throw out eggs tomorrow in the dumpster and try again.
my temp is 36.8 C
Humidity 58 percent can't fill my incubator with water because its full of water in the bottom part under the eggs
The incubator is in a daft area in the basement which is not where I would of put it. my mom isn't smart when it comes to hatching. does not know the first thing about hatching like I do.
going to get my mom information on hatching and placement of incubator and the process of it all. super bummed but ugh feel bad

What day are you on? Did you candle them? With your temps being low they may just be running late.

Well, it looks like I may have another broody. Our little red pyle OEGB, Dove, has decided to sit on a bunch of eggs. We couldn't find her last night when we went to put everyone to bed, so we went looking and found her and her nest. We collected the eggs and her and brought everyone inside. I don't know how many of the eggs she has are even viable, since yesterday was the first day she committed to brooding. In a day or so, we're going to candle what she has, and then if none are good, we'll switch them out with a couple other good eggs. If it works out, we will have either a late May or an early June hatch.

Here's a picture of Dove with the two sons she raised last year. She is TINY!

I wish more of my girls would go broody. I have 3 bantam cochin and 7 silky. Only one has been broody so far and she just hatched 2 baby silky for me this week. I have not collected the eggs from my cochin coop for a couple days hoping to encourage one to go broody.:bow

I get so many broody hens every year. I strongly believe that raising chicks near their run sends their hormones into overdrive. Every time I raise chicks by the run I end up with broody hens. Or if I get one broody that hatches some chicks then I suddenly have 2-3 more broodies sitting because they're jealous and want chicks too. lol :lau

So I guess I shouldn’t put my chicks in their coop with their mini run this weekend 😂 I don’t want any broody cranks right now.
