First predator attack and I would like help figuring out what it was.

Trap is good idea...but radio and dog hair do work

Buzzards don't kill they eat already dead stuff. Usually the smellier the better for them. Hawks sound like a possibility. Coons too.

Racoons have a normal fear of dogs and coyotes..coyote urine can be purchased on eBay..careful with urine unless its human...the radio is known as an audio scarecrow...I'd recommend it to anyone...solar lights too

Hawks carry it off..so does owls.. coins eat necks and crops...

So sorry to hear about the attack We have had opossum get our girls too. That doesn't explain the missing bodies though. Just a thought to keep your eyes open for them too. We recently had a loss where the neck and crop was ripped open. I have no idea what it would have been, but I am thinking maybe a buzzard got her Good luck with your flock

I have had problems with coons, they sometimes can wipe out a whole flock in a few months depending on its size
