Granny's gone and done it again

Elijah functions pretty well for the most part but still ... like the other day I made it to the bathroom using the walker but then realized that was a really bad idea, so I called to him and asked him to bring me the wheelchair. Which he did and then galloped off to go do other things. Never occurred to him that his suffering Grandmother might like a PUSH in the wheelchair to get back down the hall to her recliner. It was all I could do to even get in it!

You want a wheelchair, here's your wheelchair, bye!

This is true.

Wonder how things will work for Robert when you pass. Will he still need a guardian or payee? Could you put him in charge of paying the bills now so he can understand what running a household wil entail?
Oh he knows how. He made the bills for a solid yr. before deciding he was done.

I think the same is going to be true for my GC. Sometimes I think DH and I should sell this house and land and tell her, You're on your own. Good luck, have a nice life. No more nest, time to learn to fly. I mean, we won't always be here and there's no way she can afford this house, the utilities, the insurance, the taxes, etc.
Is she still going to school? My DH was lucky. Got a good job with city in his 40. He gets a good pension. Think what it could be if he started at 20.

We have so many projects we need to get done this spring/summer! Mine and DH bedroom needs a total redo.
We have to fix the roof sealing leaks.
Fix a gutter.
Pull down the porch.
Fix the bathroom ceiling.
That is just the start!
The doing is stressful, but I think the money is more stress 😢
The price of things keeps going higher. Those tariffs are not my favorite things!

I have tried a couple times. I mostly just try to squeeze dollars and turn lights off.

This just isn't fair to any of us. It shouldn't be this hard to live.
In Japan, houses are held by families. Each generation pays as long as they can. Another generation takes over. And so on.
