actually I was talking about the AVC LOL ... but some consider that Voodoo too
I have to agree that few studies have been done on either... and the ones that have been done seem to have flaws, on both sides of the issues.
we all have to do what works for us.

Chickens are not humans. Waste of time and money to ferment...Period.

Come on Ralph, tell us how you really feel.

I hate to hurt peoples feelings or I would.....

It should be noted, I have already said there is a study that shows it helps parasite and bacterial diseases to feed fermented feed. I just think it should be used like ACV, A steady diet of nothing but fermented feed or ACV is not healthy, It would be like us consuming nothing but Fermented Hops. We might not get worms, but that's about the only good thing about it...

BTW I am not going to look up that long list of "studies' but if you have one where the humans ate nothing but fermented foods I might look at it.

I cannot believe I have been drug into this discussion. It is as I said when I posted the first time, for those feeding fermented feed their is no reasoning with them, it is like arguing religion, only fools argue religion. And here I am arguing it..... Not pretty what that says about me.... I am done.,..really

I agree that chickens are not humans. I agree that it takes 10-15 extra minutes of time. I have cut my food bill by about half so not sure how it wastes money...

. But I was brave enough to try it and it works for me and my birds... I have been using it since october and the birds are in great shape and smell better....time will tell if there are any ill effects... they do free range and get the scrapes that would have went into the compost pile so it is not all they eat.

Tried it with the dogs food and he liked it at first but as time went on not so much..... the cat refused to try it... kinda like Ralphie LOL
Everyone should do what works for them, what works for others may not be your cup of tea... Just do not think it is fair to discourage people from trying something that may help them... without ever trying it. .

Amen

It makes great sense, fermenting feed to remove nutrients, volume by eliminating starches and sugars would save you money. 15 minutes a day 365 days a year is over 91 hours a year. Even if you were bright enough to get a minimum wage job that is over $680 a year....

So I guess I can't figure out anyway it is a money loser, or a cult like belief in it.
