First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

I agree with M&M.

I doubt the CX's brought anything in to your flock. I lost Brutus the same way he was just dead in the morning. That is chickens they die for no apparent reason.

I am sorry for your loss. it always seems to be the favorites that die on us.

DOES GENETICS PLAY A ROLE IN ONES SENSE OF FASHION?

My daughter has a warped sense of fashion. You should have seen the scene she threw last night. We were going to this place that has Xmas lights on display and gives out hot chocolate, cookies, marshmallows and stuff. It is a great place and they just ask for donations.

We are in the middle of a heat wave right now. It is almost 40 degrees at this moment (8am local time). I decided to dress for the occasion. I put on my best pair of long undies ( pants and shirt) in black as I knew it was a semi formal gathering. I then slipped a pair of grey shorts Bermuda's over them with a nice blue tee shirt. I cleaned my winter sandals and had black socks with no holes in them..........

Well, you should have seen her behavior!

What I want to know is it possible she can really be my daughter with a complete lack of sensibilities when it comes to fashion or should I be questioning my wife about the mailman?

Ralph- Your outfit is a popular one here in Colorado. It is a personal favorite of my 5 year old son. But usually with cowboy boots.

The times, they are a changing. Duluth is no longer a typical Midwest town... not that it ever really was. But, I still could not believe my eyes last summer when we visited. Canal Park Drive has become quite the "hip' area.
Maybe, your daughter has *gasp* fallen victim to the times changing.

I know my dad was emotionally wounded and questioned the validity of our DNA matching when I refused his tie choice at my wedding. It was shaped like a fish. Yes, I was married on a beach in Mexico, but that tie was not to be part of it.
I too, had fallen victim to times changing.

Now, however, I don't give a hoot. You should see some of the get ups my family parades around in.

Personally, I would not question your wives fidelity just yet... what with that and the craigslist ad, she may really be angry!

Well, I think it has finally happened. I believe my Silkie, Clyde, has gone broody! She has this hilarious growl that the uses to chase the other hens out of the coop, has been spending a good bit of time in the nesting box with no egg, and has not been roosting at night. Still sitting in the box.

That is a bit of a problem since my silly gals will only lay in one of the boxes. I am sure there is a secret nest somewhere now.

But, I am excited at the prospect of Clyde hatching some of Ralphies turkey eggs this spring!!!!

How would I tell angry from her normal demeanor?

I am aghast about your reaction to a fish tie!
I have always wanted one, except I never wear ties..

Both my kids have been caught up in the Jeno's family plot to make canal park the in place...

Ralphie, tell her to chill out. She sounds like my DD that I live with. If it's not bought from the store it's wrong. I wanted to make a hoop house with cattle panels for a coop. She thought redneck and the neighbors would pan it. So I ended up with a dog kennel that has tin on the top. That's better? Go figure. Of course, she has a dog grooming shop and her front area has about 10 kennels in the yard.

I suspect my dad only owns that one tie. It has shown up to numerous "dressy" occasions. I think that tie may make your outfits really sing... and your daughter cringe to a whole new degree!

Their plot is working.. I felt so "cool" when we were there. Emotionally and physically. It was kind of chilly. My cousin was laughing at me because I put on a sweater.

This made me laugh so hard that my daughter asked what was so funny. I shared the story and unbenownst to me, my husband was listening and also burst out laughing at this. I had a realization. This is exactly the same thing that he would say about me in the same situation! ACK!!

Not having a smart phone or camera I've never learned to post pictures or anything. Perchiegirl is trying to help me but I did learn to add a signature and post a picture. These are not mine but from a long ago post of a person that's left the forum. They are identical to my birds. Regal!!! I have 3 pullets and 2 roosters. As soon as I go pick up the good one. Paid for it. I'm going to do a LOT of hatching after the first of the year. Also I've got eggs coming in. Marraduna Basque and Lavender Australorps. Shipping Monday. I hope. I'm gonna be busy!!!!
