First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Sorry about losing your creamette chicks Ralph. On the brightside, I had posted for a chicken wrangler on craigs. I think you'd fit the part. My listing read: Looking for crazy old man in flip flops to help wrangle 200 chickens 32 miles. Must have donkey and love chickens. Must not be against bribing with sunflower seeds or carrying more than one chicken at a time to achieve goal. Must pay own travel expenses. Payment is all the drinks at the bar & grill you can down in two nights. Lol!

Here's a few tractor pics:

Not even the rain was going to stop my dh from working on this thing. Can you find him in the pic?

The nesting box is installed and tested. He has one more adjustment and then can enclose it and complete. This is the back of the nests where we will collect eggs from the outside of the chicken tractor.

Just a pic of the other end. The feeder is there but on it's side because it isn't attached yet and we don't want any freak accidents.

There you go Holm!

All the drinks I can down in two nights!!! WOW

You could end up paying me like 3 bucks!

I will bust you, Wait.. Can I have Dom Perigon?

(or however it is spelled)

That I could drink bottles of, I love it;

BTW I found your DH in the picture,,,, The plumbers crack gave him away....

Holm- So sad about the babies! What happened?!

Jessica- Your combine is AMAZING! I can't wait to see it all finished! What ever happened with your other 2 hens in ICU? Yeast infection and egg bound? Is that was it was? How are the lice? Blech. I am overly creeped out by lice.

Ralph- I think you better answer her ad quickly! That is a dream job! Where can I see a list of the different "titles" they give us here? What determines our "title"? Just wondering.
How much snow did you get?

Today, yes, I realize I have said I will be doing this for about a month now... TODAY I will be building a new area for the CX.
Luckily it will not be too sunny here today. Turns out I am allergic to antibiotics and I am covered in hives from head to toe. The sun makes them extra itchy.

There is no list that I know of, when you pay for the membership you can make up your own title, in addition to getting faster ad free browsing. I have not had a "ong running script" error since I bought mine. I love it.

The titles a person gets without the paid membership, I think I read somewhere, are based on how many "posts" you have. I have no idea where I read it. OR I could be just thinking I read that, at my age I make things up and think they happened without even knowing it.

What determines our "title"? Just wondering. Read above answer....

How much snow did you get? We did not really get any accumulation of snow, it was just snowy, sleety, rainy and miserable. It is today too. There is a trace amount of snow around the trees and buildings. I got my feet damp from snow when I let Bert out of the shed.

Today, yes, I realize I have said I will be doing this for about a month now... TODAY I will be building a new area for the CX.
I have decided to make a new CX area also. I am going to make it out of 6 ft interlocking panels 18inche to 2 ft tall. That way I can increase of decrease the size as needed. I am toying with the idea of getting 100 CX's... Do not tell my DW... She does not need to know how many there are until they are here...Even then I will be vague and say,, I am not sure....

I cannot take penicillin derivatives or I get itchy. I need the fake stuff...

I have only had 3 cups of coffee today, but I suppose I should go do something instead of sitting here, besides I am out of lives on candy Crush and refuse to pay for any.....

I see.. You put in "Chicken Wrangler".
I think you are right, the titles BYC gives us are connected to posts, starting threads, etc. After I post this, I am going to buy the membership. I think it is silly to buy something I can get for free, but the ads drive me crazy!

I think vague is the best way to go. I like to be vague when answering questions about poultry to my husband. "We are butchering ALL the turkeys, right?!" "Well, I'm not sure how many will hatch." Then the topic is on to hatching and I didn't have to lie...

Serious wind! So sorry about the coop!

What a good gal, I bet some chicks would make her feel so pleased with herself.

It drives me crazy to pay for something I can get for free too. BUT the long running script and the time it was taking to load was getting so bad here, I would have left the site if I did not buy the membership.

I really did not want to do that. I enjoy reading about everyone's birds and talking about mine.

There is a thread you will have access to after you buy a membership, you just ask for what ever title you want.

Ah, the ICU hens. One of them rejoined her flock and the other we had to put down. After 6 days of soaks, cleaning and various other treatments to fix her problem her vent skin was just too necrotic and she wasn't improving.

Today is follow up dusting day for the lice. My hen that was severely affected by them has made a complete recovery. I wonder if chickens can be allergic to lice. None of the others displayed her symptoms.

My two broodies have served their sentence in the broody pen. My Barred EE recovered nicely. My BO just got her release pass this morning. We will see if she needs to return or not throughout the day. I hope she's good because the silkies need the broody pen now. UGH! I've been telling my dh that we need a full blown chicken hospital/broody hutch with like 6 cages. Yeah, that's next on the list.

Ralph: Sure, I'll spring for the fancy stuff. I like to take care of my employees.

Funny that you found my dh in the photo that way. He is not the best plumber. Surprising given that he can do almost everything else very well.
