OMG, it's so RED!!!!!

It looks a little like aliens landed in your yard. Or a flock of art students. (Or is that the same thing?)

Well, I guess since chickens are attracted to red, they'll have an easy time knowing where home is...

Great job!

It looks great!! R those brooders and broody huts your putting in there!!?? I think its so cool!!

I placed a 4ft branch in the brooder. They love it. One of the meatballs is determined to get on top of the one gallon water thingies. And I'm fairly certain one of the CX "pullets" is gonna be a rooster

Hooray for babies! JR and Ralph, they are so cute!

I have been working very hard to get my DH to agree to my bringing home some MG eggs from TT. He (as he should be) is very reluctant to have eggs in the incubator again. I'm sure he doesn't want a month long silent treatment twice in one year.

This weekend we went to a close friends wedding. Of course everyone knows we have chickens. We were asked at least 30 different times about chickens. And the best part? DH answered all questions and was even slightly enthusiastic in his responses about the birds! I was so proud of him :)

So this week I need to muck out the "pen" the meaties were in. We had so much rain they destroyed most of the grass on their 1/8 acre. It was a giant mud pit for a while. I put down straw quite often to get them out of the mud. Anyhow, I'm going to till it all up and put in seed. I'm thinking millet since it grows really easily. Anyone here grown millet before? Thoughts?

Ant Farm - they ARE the same thing. I once saw an art exhibit, and I am not kidding, that consisted of a red plastic kiddy chair, and a box of kleenex on top. It was placed 'just so' in it's home in the art gallery, and there were those satin ribbons keeping you from touching it (or getting to the very useful tissues). My response, "Try Harder".

I spend the weekend helping a friend install hardwood floors. 11.5 hrs on Saturday and 10 hours yesterday. More tonight. I am sore, and I think my knees are permanently bruised for kneeling to install boards.
