First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

I'd probably start with some SOP Dark Cornish. and CX broilers on the meat side.I have White leghorn and whiting true blues for the egg side. I do get a lot of eggs from the meat side now.

I don't understand your need/desire for SOP Dark Cornish unless you plan to show. The birds I got from Linda are quite large and hefty and able to breed naturally. A lot of SOP Cornish must be bred 'by hand'.

I find breeding goats artificially to be quite nuisance enough...lol But good luck at every curve!!!

this is from mainly the Broilers, there are a few dark ,cornish, one jersey giant, barred rocks and a few other young pullets

Hellbender I will also stress the "slow" it took twice as long for them to hit the 6# mark as CX. They really start gaining weight at around 18 to 20 weeks. I'm trying to get some crosses with this guy and my sole surviving white giant pullet.

I'm not trying to make CXX anymore. None of my hens eggs were fertile and she has passed now so I am going to pick a breed and breed PBs. I like mutts but I am not helping the poultry world by breeding them. If I like the Buckeyes I might get abunch of those and Either EE or a white egg layer so we can tell the Buckeye egg from the others... Just an idea... But hope to make it a reality.
