I got my first order of hatchery cx today. I am still waiting for my cx girl to lay. So until then I'm still eating hatchery birds.waiting on my CX and her daughter to start laying LOL
the daughter is just 15 weeks
One of the pullets flew up to the top of the four foot gate this afternoon. I had to push her back into the pen. That's amazing! I saw one of mine jump almost 18 inches the other day!

I'll see if I can catch it on video tomorrow! That is amazing. I kept mine in a 4 ft tall uncovered pen all summer. They never flew over it once.
I have a BJG that most of her eggs are HUGE and most, but not all, are double yolk.
so sorry, does skew the breeding program... not sure if I would want to keep any out of her for breeding stock
For those of you that have raised CX to laying age and beyond. What type of feeding regimen did you follow? I'll be picking up some chicks the end of February to begin my breeding project. Also, what age do they start laying?
