First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

I don't personally like cx, but I'm a fan of jersey giants and Brahmas. They actually get much heavier than modern broilers, but they require space and proper feed/water. Before nightmarish battery farms were invented, these were standard meat breeds.

I've yet to see a jersey giant or Brahma reach or exceed 19-1/2 lbs.

"Foghorn" made it to a tad over one year old. At his death he weighed 19-1/2 lbs.
 
As much as you try and in your brain you know it can happen and most likely will. BUT you still can't believe it when it happened.

Do any if the rest of you have a large supply of various sized jugs,totes and buckets lying everywhere?? Every time I go to the dollar store or Walmart I go check on all the various sizes.. Lol
