First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Dave I agree with JR, those birds are awesome! If we can get those here I don't know where!

Thanks guys.
I have bought my eggs over the last 8 years from a guy who imports them from France.
Last year he said he might be retiring so that's when I started breeding them.
I went for medium & slow growth birds and crossed them to produce the chicks in the pictures.

The Sasso in France is produced for the Label Rouge market, which is a standard that they use for free range meat birds.
And to be honest, it's very good.

Bit of info for you.

lpatelski that Guinevere is gorgious! has a siliar look to a barnvelder. I would love it if that were available as a meat bird through a hatchery, I simply can not have a rooster here in the burbs so I am reliant on someone else to at least produce the eggs. if there is a source for these chicks please let me know.

Linda has several birds I like.... The double lacing on the one she labeled Marion is what every dark Cornish hen should look like..... there are two spangle-ish birds of hers I really like too!

I feel like an idiot for not knowing what 4H is...
I guess we may need to more about you and where you are located. 4H and FFA(Future Farmers of America) are a young children, and up to 19 yrs old, Agricultural based Clubs in the USA. They will probably not be available in the larger cities, although I was a High School FFA member in Costa Mesa, California late 70's. Our High School Farm was gobbled up by a parking lot and Golf course. We all know how much those can feed America...

I tried emailing the company in new york about their sasso broilers. Forgot it was the weekend. :( I'm not real hopeful though. From the way they talk on their site I believe they are a LOCAL supplier. I'll keep pestering them till I get a response.:)
