Hello everyone!
A little while back once I got my last batch of chicks of late last Spring, my seller from the hatchery I got my chicks from recommended this product. However, I want the absolute best for my chickens, so organic and non-GMO or just all in all clean ingredients will conclude what I'm looking for. And with that, this product does meet those standards for me, but I don't know so much about the two ingredients within this product, which is made up of 99.9% of calcite and 0.1% of citric acid. So, I'de really appreciate if anyone has used and what their thoughts of this product is and what the ingredients within this products do best for our birds.
Thank you!

I have not used it. It is recommended to help keep odor under control.

I prefer to keep things as clean and dry as possible to keep odor under control. Therefore I use poop boards under the roosts and clean the boards daily. I have about 5 bags of pine shavings covering the coop floor that get cleaned out annually. The run is covered in wood chips and I have a roof over the run to keep it dry so it never stinks out there either. And my run is as predator proof as the coop so I never close the pop door which means the birds don't have to wait to leave the coop in the morning. They just go out instead of hanging around, pooping all over the floor waiting for me to release them.

But if you want to use SL sparingly under bedding, it should be okay.

Hello DobieLover, thank you for your rely!
I do already use wood flakes (only within my coop), but I was only thinking of using this product in the run since they would be spending most of their time outside, preventing pests, bugs, and odor control. But I'll do some continouse research on this product and see how it turns out for my flock. And in the near future will have an update if all goes well further using SL to recommend this for other memebers here as well.
