Does anyone here use First Saturday Lime to help control pests? If so, what's the best method when applying to the coop/run? This would be in addition to their dust bath.
I don't have any pest issues yet, but I'd like to do what I can to prevent it.

I have not used First Saturday Lime,, but have read about it. I is a premium version of lime, that is supposed to be SAFE. :thumbsup
While other versions of lime are not really considered DANGEROUS,, they do have their drawbacks in use.
I have used Hydrated lime before, and aware of it being capable of causing skin irritation to different degrees.
Loooooong ago,, I used hydrated lime and made a paint like consistency,, and painted the inside of a garden shed. Reason for doing such, was to prevent insects eating my sheds. It did do that, and lasted years. That was the interior of shed.
In many countries, in rural villages, people whitewash the exterior of their homes. They also whitewash fruit tree trunks same way.
Lime is not a bad thing then:thumbsup
Read the directions for use on a bag of First Saturday Lime, and follow procedure. Or read up online.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome

Thanks for the input! I see it can also be used around the perimeter/foundation of a house for insects as well. May as well try it out!

I do. My neighbor told me about it. She has bunnies, chickens, dogs and puppies. She has treated her coop, yard and puppy area on her back porch. OUR fly population has decreased. I ordered some as well for my chicken coop and yard. Wow, what a difference! Big decrease in flies and mosquitos ( we live in Florida) I have noticed a decrease in flies in/around our chicken coop. We can sit outside again without getting eaten up by mosquitos. I plan to 'paint' the wood frame of my coop with this stuff also.

I do layer bedding. I pick out big chunks of poop, spread the grass cuttings & straw, then I dust the whole floor with DE & First Saturday Lime. I make a separate dust bath for my hens with wood ash, DE, 1st Saturday Lime and assorted herbs. I dust the whole outside of the coop with the 1st Sat Lime as well as the whole yard.
