Hi All,

I just noticed my 9month old Easter Egger has a bubbly eye. She’s acting completely normal otherwise. I don’t see anyone else in the flock like this.

I put some terramycin in the eye to see if that will help. If that does not help, is anything that I have on hand going to help if it is indeed Mycoplasma that she has? I have TiaGard 12.5% and Enrofloxacin. Is there something else that I should purchase now just in case that would work better? Photo attached (not the best but Patsy is a fast one!)

Thank you!
Courtney

Mycoplasma Gallisepticum (MG) shows quite a few symptoms in conjunction with bubbles in the eyes. It is highly contagious to other birds and can also be passed via feeders/waterers and through eggs.
Another possibility could possibly be debris in her eye. You can liberally flush her eye with saline solution using an eyedropper, gently pat dry and then release her for observation.

Thank you! I will do so. Their run is quite dusty right now so hoping she may have just gotten debris in her eye.
