Granny's gone and done it again

Calories in calories out, and exercise even light will do so much better then "diets". I try to remember that. I need to lose at least 10lbs of what I gained back. I really really need to get back to walking every day!
DH and I walk. In fact we need to get out today with Pi. She's in that rebellious stage right now and is a lot easier to deal with if she is tired so we will hopefully get her out for a half hour walk in the woods this afternoon.

Unfortunately, I have to follow a rather strict diet for health problems but what I found to help me so much was measuring serving size and sticking with it. Also watching my carb intake. If you ever want to see why there is an obesity problem in America, go to a steak restaurant and watch what people eat, or rather what they serve people. I swear I have taken home enough food for another meal for myself when I used to eat out a lot with friends. Unfortunately the bulk of the people around me sit and clean their plates. It's so much easier gaining weight than it is losing it....unfortunately.

I usually always take at least half or more home lol

My Lacy is at the vet and doing well. They'll keep her overnight to watch her. I love this place. She also got her microchip. And, she's been scratching hard at her cheek whiskers hard enough to cause a sore. The vet is sending home some antibiotic for that. Plus the cone of shame will keep her from scratching too.

Awww

My mother used to say that we all want to go to heaven but none of us are anxious to make the journey. I have to admit I'm bad about talking about it with DH. We have talked but that is all. I've dealt with so much death in my career that it's something I tend to push to the back of my mind a lot. I don't believe in big funerals. Another quip from my mother was when she knew she was dying she laid the law down to me. No visitation, no big funeral. If people didn't care enough to visit her when she was alive she didn't want them weeping crocodile tears over her when she was in a casket. We had a graveside service for her after cremation. It was a sunny spring day and beautiful. I told my husband, I didn't want a big wedding...we got married by a judge with two friends standing with us in Casa Grande Arizona...and I don't want a big funeral when that time comes. You are just as married with the first and just as dead with the second.

Morning all. Lots to do today. Up in the low 80s so I've got one more flower bed to go over so tending to that today and may go for a short dirt bike ride. Hope everyone is having a good morning.
Oh my goodness my mother was the same. She made us promise, no viewing except family and her friend across the street from her. And so it was.

Her family wasn't too happy about it but I told them it was her dying instructions and I was going to follow them.

The couple that lived next door to me before I met DH had the husband's father living across the street from them in an apartment. he was in his 90s when he died and had done a prepaid plan on his funeral when he was a much younger man. When he died the funeral home told the family that they were in for a surprise. His investment had grown to the point that they could bury him in their top line casket with topof the line services and tree was enough money left over that the family ws going to be refunded a tidy sum. It was in the thousands of dollars. So it was sorta kinda like a life insurance policy in the end.

Never heard of such a thing.
