First, Second, Third and on and on Incubator hatch help appreciated

i use scientific mercury thermos and use the ice method to calibrate
Did they come with a tolerance range?
Got a link?

I liked the idea of a medical oral therm(old one, was mercury) with it's known tolerance and a range containing the 100F and testing at around that temp.
Boiling and ice water are so far from targeted incubation temp.

i bought them used off ebay but are VERY accurate

Yep I will have to double check it and I'm thinking if it's spot on to raise temp to 100-101 and lower humidity to 28-30 for 1st 18 day next time.

If temps right could humidity play a role in developing? If I'm thinking right at 7 days I went from 32 ish to 40 till day 15 the

I'm not understanding the scientific mercury thermos. How to get like a oral or immersion to read temp in the incubator. I
I understand the brinsea spot check but heck being a newer incubator made by them, if I find the temp off I'll get it fixed.

I used the oral therm as my 'standard' to test the therms I would use in the bator.
Used a candy therm to get a cup of tap water to about 100F,
then immersed oral and bator therms in the water.
Noted differences of the bator therms to adjust my readings.
The bator therms were 1-6 degrees off.
This is an incubator therm from little giant,
it is mounted on clear acetate so it sits on top of the eggs.
Note that it says right on there to test against a known accurate therm.
Not a great pic, but circled is where I noted the difference.

ETA: I was using a buddies bator, they had bad hatches.
Found the therm in lid was off by 6 degrees,
therm was clearly marked 'for reference only'.
