If this cat is in fact someone's cat, folks need to realize that their housepet might hurt other folk's family pets. If this happens too often, their family pet could get hurt as well.
From the sounds of it, you have a feral cat that doesn't belong to anybody. I'd suggest trapping then drowing or killing. Sorry to the folks who disagree, but chickens and family poultry are not chew toys. And when it comes to non-domesticated birds, I hope to have a business in ornithology someday and I strongly DON'T like animals hurting innocent birds.
Another thing, I agree with anyone who is against trapping and releasing. It's unhealthy in many ways.
