So my 8 chicks who are now 8 weeks old discovered their first snake slithering through their penned area yesterday! I walked out and saw 5 of them in the corner. They seemed to be looking at something and I heard a continuous clicking type of warning from one of the girls. I took a good look and saw a pretty good sized garter snake slithering along the wooden separator for the garden that they are penned near. It was way too big for them to go for at this age but they were extremely interested and concerned about it in their area! When they are big the snakes in our yard our in trouble!
