When I was young we had chickens on my parents ten acres that I helped to feed and I loved watching them and so when I moved in with my boyfriend last year, I decided this was my time to get chickens. We live in the city but have a sizable yard with a tall privacy fence and plenty of bugs :). I just wanted to share pictures of our new additions and thank this blog for all of its help in preparing me for raising chickens of my own, twenty some years later!

Congrats and Welcome to BYC!!

I hope you have a much larger brooder to put them in soon.
They need to be warm, but they also need to be able to get away from the heat.

Good tip! I'm slowly weaning them from the heat lamp now. We are in Western Colorado and the temps here are rising steadily so I hope to have them in the coop in a month. However, based on size I know they will have to be moved to a larger space. They are growing so fast!
