First time chick owner in PA :)

It is possible for them to think you are their mom but, seems to happen more if you only have one chick. Chickens are flock animals and generally prefer their own kind. There are also some that get devoted to their human and follow them everywhere.
 
I have 6 of them. And this one is comfortable with me. She's sleeping on my chest right now. it's so adorable!♡ i love her.
 
The store wouldn't let me just buy onen i had to buy 6. What if i was to just keep 2 of them? Would they die because there's only 2? There 2 weeks old. My sister wanted some so i was going to give her a few.
