Hi everyone!
I am excited to be part of this forum! So many new things to learn raising chicks for the first time. I started with 10 eggs in my incubator. 7 hatched on day 21, one hatched day 22 and this is day 23 and it looks like another one is pipping. The other one is not showing any signs of movement. I'm assuming it's not viable. How long should I wait on that last one? Seems to be mixed opinions.

Update. Looks like the pipped egg in question wasn't actually - just had a broken piece of shell stuck to it I'm definitely just learning!! So we got 8 out of 10 hatched and in the brooder. I thought since the last hatchling added was a day younger than the rest that it would be picked on, but it's been accepted beautifully They're so sweet. Fingers crossed we have lots of girls in there! I am curious what types we have. Is there a good resource to check? Or is posting pictures here the best resource?

When your chicks are around six weeks old you can post pictures in the 'What Breed or Gender' forum. I'm sure someone can help you with their sex.
