This is the best chicken website for your fowl questions:)

I am a newbie to the chicken world also. My chicks and ducks are supposed to be here the middle of next week...8 silver lace Wyandotte, 8 golden lace Wyandotte, 3 blue lace red Wyandotte and 6 Rouen ducks. I am looking at a little bigger scale than you are, but our coop was already on our property sitting empty and kind of worn out so I decided to put it to good use. We have ended up taking out the framing for the doors and windows and putting in new because the boards were rotten, but the main structure is clay tile so it is pretty tight and safe. We also had to pull out the wood floor because those boards were rotten and chewed through by rats. We are pouring concrete next weekend so the coop will be ready about a week after my chickies and ducks arrive. I am super excited.

As a side note...I don't know if you are in to pinterest or not, but I have found a lot of very helpful information on there too, most of them bring you back to BYC, but it saves you the time of sifting through all of the threads that don't apply for you.

I just started exploring pinterest myself in the last few weeks. Love it but man! There is SO much stuff out there!

I'm still trying to learn my way through it all.

Welcome! Love the pictures! Beautiful babies. Looks like a great setup for happy chickens. What breed is Bubbles? I have a young Cuckoo Marin that is flat out nuts! Zoom -zoom everywhere, so fun and friendly. Best of luck! Lots of expert advice here. I'm a first year chickener. BYC has been so helpful.

With the new birds being so close in age once everyone is feathered and dont need the temps regulated for them you should be able to start introducing them using the see and not touch method so the can look but not touch each other. Then letting them free range and if you can get them all together before they reach 18 to 20 weeks that would probably be best. That is when they will go through puberty and start laying eggs so little stress as possible at this point.

It seems as though all your other questions have been answered very well by others

Good luck with your flock and enjoy ranging here
