Hi, My name is Tabitha. My boyfriend and I live in Waxahachie, TX and we are first time chicken owners. We have 8 chickens, all 12 weeks old. We have 2 of each of 4 different kinds, the Black Laced Wyandotte, Black Sex Link, Speckled Sussex and Golden Lakenvelders. We are learning as we go and taking advice wherever we can get it. So far so good. We hope to be able to learn a lot from BYC.

Hello Tabitha and welcome to BYC

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/category/learning-center.11/ and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread#post_3239224

All the best

I am new to chickens too.
Do you find that your sets of two all get along the same or do they tend to like the one most like them the most?

They all seem to get along. The two that are the same seem to congregate together when they are walking around or laying down. They all have their moments where they run at each other and get in the other ones face. They are quite entertaining to watch.

I am noticing a little of the liking the ones that look like them the most from at least some of mine. But you have more sets then me so that is interesting that you see some of that too.
