first time chicken owners

How old are they? They look like pullets at this point.

i believe they are around 5-7 weeks..is there any way at this point to tell or is it too early

It is too early. With Polish, you usually need to wait until male specific feathering starts to come in, so it will be a while. But keep an eye on the combs and wattles. If there is development and redness in that area now or in the next few weeks, then whichever bird shows that could be a cockerel.
