Welcome to BYC!

Oh, you are going to love your Australorps! They are a very friendly breed, docile and very affectionate as well. They are great layers and hardy over all. Are these adult birds? If so, go sit with them for 20 mins a day or so. Get down on their level on the ground and bring some treats. Toss them out around you and even hold your hand out with treats. It may take some time, but eventually you will have them all over you. Sit quiet with them, move slowly and don't pick them up much yet. My Aussies are huge on lap sitting. I can't sit anywhere without a chicken on my lap!
