You did the right thing. Chickens don't do well with a broken leg. And when all an animal knows is that it is pain and is suffering, it is kindest to let the animal rest. Isend you a big hug for doing the most difficult thing that responsible animal owners sometimes have to do.

We all have to do things we would rather not, but when you ease suffering, it is the right thing. And you did the right thing, never doubt that!

No one will (or should be) judging you for it.

Hard to do I am sure. But you did the right thing. I know others here would advise you to put the Roo up at the Ritz and such, but in actuality it was NATURE that picked his path. Sometimes it looks mean, cruel, inhumane etc... but the power to end suffering is a great tool.... Give a high toast of wine to the Roo, and be assured you are not a monster. Unless you used a bazooka or such.

I'm sorry if I came across as harsh, I certainly didnt mean any harm by my post and am very sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Have no fear, he was seperated. He was in a colony pen, then I moved him to a different pen with two quail, which turned out to be little packages of evil, then I moved him again. I had NO idea the quail would turn out to be evil! He was at least two times bigger than they were, and it was just till he got better.

I totally get where you were coming from, but I just couldn't make him suffer for weeks more, not being able to move, and not healing either.
