This is my first time hatching duck eggs! Its day 27 and Im impatiently waiting!! As far as i can tell there has been no internal pip yet! just looks like ducking is moving a bit in the edge of the air cell. This page has been extremely helpful yet makes me extremely nervous for something to go wrong at the same time haha

thank you ! i've noticed some changes in the air cell shape so im not touching them.. :) they are khaki campbell ducks. we got 3 ducklings from a local farmer about 6 months ago and when they started laying, I wanted to see if they were fertile so i bought an incubator. totally new at everything but ive been researching my butt off haha

Nice! Never had Campbells, I've seen them in person they look like a very calm breed. I currently have twenty call eggs in the incubator. The last few days of incubation feels like an eternity.

You can make a small safety hole safety hole 18-24 hours after the internal pip, make the hole right above the Aircell, slowly pierce the shell with a small screw tip, don't make the hole to big or it can dry out the duckling fast. The ducklings are currently learning to breathe the air in the aircell, this is a critical point so give the ducklings some time before you assist.
