First time egg layers

My flock is about four months old and two days ago one of them layed their first eggs. No one has layed since so I am wondering if this is normal?

The breeds I have are 3 Leghorns and 3 Rhode Island Reds

This is completely normal for new layers - their system is just starting to figure out what it's supposed to do so you'll see some days with eggs, some without - and it may take several more weeks before a of them have started laying. The good news is, you got your first egg!

Now I have another question...one of my hens is laying shell less eggs and many a day for the last 3-4 days. What is this all about does anyone know? I'm a little shook up thinking something is wrong. She will be out in the run and lay one. I was in the coop and found 2 more in the nesting boxes...I'm a little scared...
