Hi, I'm hoping someone can help!

I've had chickens for a couple of years and this is the first time I saw a worm in one of the eggs. I just found out that my husband also saw one of these a week ago. This particular egg had a softer shell and lighter colored.

Recently my chickens have started shaking their heads and laying less. It looks like they are missing feathers now too. I treated them with safeguard (fenbendazole) in June and about a week ago I sprayed the coop with permethrin (followed according to label).

Thanks in advance!

Are you familiar with blood spots? Sometimes hens lay eggs with bits of blood or even little chunks of tissue inside. Especially in pictures, a stringy piece of material from the hen can look a lot like a worm, so I can't tell for sure if that's what happened here.
