Today we went to the livestock auction, (I really should know better than going by now) and there was this little goat. Well I am a sucker for a sweet face and bought him.

He has this HUGE tag hanging from his ear. Should I remove it? Should I leave it there? If I should remove it, any suggestions on how to do so?

Also, any idea what he may be?

I just used a pair of clippers - like the ones used to cut craft wire. It came out very easily...just have someone steady the head while you cut. I purchased mine at Home Depot.

I HATE those ear tags! Especially the metal ones. There really has to be a better way....but it's government regulations.

My husband cuts them too. Then clean the hole with antiseptic.
The ears tell me he has some Nubian in him...maybe mixed with bore?

What do you use to cut them off with? We just got a baby goat and want to cut it off.

Ordinary side cutters (wire cutter in American). Hold head still and clip. Then get him friends before your life becomes his life. Put a lock on your beer fridge to be sure.
