Hello guys! I need help! This is my first time incubating eggs and one has a small crack in it. I’m worried because it’s only about day 19. Is this normal? I’m concerned that I might’ve cracked it or somehow but I doubt that I cracked it. So is this alright or should I just keep an eye on it? I haven’t heard any pipping or any sort but maybe I’m wrong? I’ve never done this so I’m just concerned if I’m doings things alright? 😱

It’s a little hard to tell but it’s normal for them to pip on day 19 I’ve had some day 18. I would watch it and keep it in the incubator but if your concerned you could candle it and look for a beak or movement.

I candled the egg but I couldn’t tell much so I put it back. I increased the humidity a bit because it had a smaller air sack so I was concerned it wasn’t going to hatch because it’s smaller than usual.

Did it always have a smaller air cell? Or just this last time you candled? If the air cell looks irregular it could have pipped internally
I didn’t notice it was smaller until recently. About day 16 or so. I tried to decrease the humidity to see if that would help increase the size of the air sac because I read it might help, and then when I went to check on it today that’s when I noticed the crack.

So luckily my little chick popped out today! I fell asleep and woke up to it rolling around with the egg cracked open and it was chirping! I took the egg off and I’m letting it dry inside the incubator with a small napkin under it.

Pictures? How is it? Any others?
