Hi! What kind of candler do you use? I incubate Marans a lot. I usually twist them back and forth at 8 days or so to see if an embryo moves. Then see if its mostly dark at lockdown and hope for the best, lol.

Thank you! One of my Marans, I can see movement, even though it's not as easy as the Breda and Easter Egger eggs. The other two, the shells are so thick and dark, I've barely been able to see even the blood vessel development, and for a long time, even the air cell eluded detection. I use the plug-in Magicfly candler. I understand it's a little brighter than the wireless.
