AllCoop'dUp :
blueducklings when I first glanced at your incubator I was like "WOW" I want chickens that lay those pretty colored eggs.
My adventure in hatching continues...I put the eggs into lockdown on Sunday evening. Last night I saw what I believe to be an egg pipping. But you know how it is when you stare at something long enough you can imagine seeing all sorts of images! When I looked this morning, nothing had changed. Now I'm getting worried. I read so much about having the humity too high and drowning chicks that I decided to go with a humity of 56 as opposed to 60 or 70. The mini advance that I have doesn't have the humidity regulator, so it is what it is. I filled the water to the divider line like instructed and there's some condensation on the inside and the paper towels look moist. Good grief I need some movement soon, this is crazy stressful.
I've got eggs ready to put in as soon as these are done. I'll be setting 12 duck and as many chicken eggs as I can fit in the Mini and the Octagon.
Plus my broody is due next Friday the 11th.
I'll send you some of my special "coloured" eggs...LOL
They are not guranteed to hatch though.
To increase the humidity, all you got to do is increase the surface area of the water or if you have a small tupperware, you can put it in and see how much the humidity rises. If it is not enough, you can plop a sponge in it, or make the container bigger.
Just got to tweek it. But not this hatch. Its in LOCKDOWN MODE.
