First time hatching Button Quail!

Quote:
when I held them I could feel a chick moving inside! About how long until they hatch at this point?

It's hard to say, really. Shouldn't be a long time.

But, you need to put those eggs back in the incubator and leave them in lockdown. Don't mess with them anymore.

Woohoo! I love hatching/and watching other people hatch out these little "Bumble Bees!"

I put the eggs back in as soon as I was done, then I had to go into the city for something. When I got back there was a PIP!!!

It'll probably be out before bedtime. It may rest for a few hours, though. Once it starts zipping, it'll probably be out in minutes. You leave to go to the bathroom once it's started zipping & it can be out before you get back.

2 babies have hatched! They are SOOOO tiny! I dont know how they can fit all their innards in such a tiny body!

Woohoo! Since you just have a few babies, put a small stuffed animal in the warm part of the brooder with them. You want it to be a LOW stuffed animal, though, because they will climb all over it and may fall of of it. You don't want them climbing too high and tumbling down. Something the size of a beanie baby is good.

right now they are still in the bator, drying off. But I'll be sure to give them something to cuddle with when I move them to the brooder. I am in love with them already!
