Hi, this is my first time ever incubating eggs and they are getting very close to hatching. I am away from home for 12 hours and I was wondering how long hatched chicks can be in the incubator for? I don't want anything bad to happen and the instructions said to take them out when they get fluffy, but I also don't know how long that takes. Please, can someone help me!!

Yes, you can take them out when they are fluffy and dry. This time can vary and the chick may not look fluffy because it has not preened itself, and can still be taken out of the incubator. Most people wait 12-24 hours. You can wait up to 48. The chick must be dry.

I see. I tried broody hens. Didnt have the right setup and I suffered for it. So I bought an incubator. I am about to stick my fourth batch in.
