First time hatching ducklings

Wow, 9 is great! Are they all done? Did she leave some eggs?
When to take them is up to you. Are you going to let her keep some, or are you rehoming all of them?
What did the drake do? :hide

Yes she is all done :D we are keeping 2 and rehoming the others to good people who will take care of them. She kicked out 4 eggs. 2 died in the processing of pipping. 2 were eggs that never began to hatch. My drake woke us up at 5 am chasing my female and making all kinds of noise. Then the mom grabbed a baby to move her and the drake tried to grab it from her mouth. The baby is ok but that is when we removed him.

Since you are keeping some, I think you can take the others whenever you want. I always feel bad to take them too soon, but momma will be happy with a couple.
Glad you caught the drake. They just don't understand as well as roosters do that momma has other duties now. But he'll get over it. :D

I have a question. One of my ducklings leg sticks out to the side a little when it walks. Is there something wrong or is it because she is young?

Depends how bad it is. What feed are you using? Ducklings need more niacin in their diet than chickens do, for good leg growth. You may need to supplement with some vitamin B, nutritional yeast or brewers yeast.

They are on a starter feed. The leg just goes out to the side. The feet look good though. She still hobbles around pretty good.
 
Update! So my first time hatching was on March 24. They are all doing great! The little one that had a leg that kept going out to the side straightened up and looks great! We gave 5 away and kept 4. They have been back outside in there own coop for a few weeks now. The mom and dad have never been separated so to keep the babies safe the mom and dad are in there own coop beside them. The dads is still bullying the babies. He chases them and at one point grabbed one of the babies wings. We are supervising them when they range together. My question is because they are in different coops will that keep them from learning to be one flock?
