First Time hatching eggs, egg sacks too small

I opened the air sac and there was no movement. Removed whit membrane. Chick was in a lot of liquid could see yolk sac. Couldn't tell if there was fully formed chick in there. Too fluidity for me to open. And we have been fighting to keep the humidity high so it wasn't that it had to much humidity at lock down.
Oh well, definitely need to do few things differently next Batch we incubate. Thanks AmyLynn. I am always so grateful for your assistance. I will have to follow "she said he said" so I can keep in touch. We just ordered 15 blue copper marans 1 day olds ( we have blue copper marans rooster and are going to start breeding them when they are older and after few generations of breeding best qualities we will maybe start to sell. Looks like we won't be hatching any more eggs for awhile. Plus we are getting 2 Nigerian dwarf goats,

so will be busy Thanks again for everything.

If I am going to start doing this using best practices, I need to learn it seems. And to learn what went wrong so I can fix things, it seems I will have to eggtopsy-as in your face sad as it is.
AmyLynn, my husband says give up, too. I candled and cant see movement and don't feel anything. It is just that I have read some posts about some people thinking their post due chicks were dead and then surprisingly they hatched late. But, I am sure you are correct. So bummed,
Past day 23 you run a much higher rate of having chicks with problems when/if they do hatch. My day 24 hatcher has leg problems due to the delay in development. The farther you get from the "hatch date" the higher probability of being faced with problems or having to cull. I could never pull the plug on chicks I knew were still alive, I'd have to take that chance, but many people do rather than be faced with "bad" chicks. But if there are no signs of life twenty four hours after my last hatcher or 3 days past hatch day, I would give up. I just don't like prolonging the inevitable, but so far, I've been good at being accurate in my assessment of wether they were alive or dead before doing the eggtopsies.

I won't be able to pull the plug on chicks that I know are alive. The whole cull thing freaks me out too, although I will never let any animal suffer. I believe your advice has been so sound the entire time you have assisted me and appreciate you so much. So grateful that I found BYC and you responded to chicapee's tag to help me.

I know. I'm not sure if I can cull myself. Haven't had to yet and been incubating for a year now. I think I'd have to call in my reserves to do it. You're welcome for any help I've given. Chic's a good chick.
