First Time Hatching - Questions and Concerns on Day 20

We're on day 22 and I have two chicks successfully out now and the rest are pipped! If. I'm lucky it will be a 6/6 hatch - glued to the incubator TV right now ;)

A third one has hatched! Looked like the silkie roo we couldn't find a home for has been busy (haha) and there is one pure cochin and two silkie cochin crosses <3 Time to find him a new home - but in all honesty the crosses are beautiful too!

Are you positive it's a male?

I’m positive the adult silkie roo is a male, yes. Of course, no one will likely know what these chicks are for a very very long time! The chicks have homes, but I’ll have to find a home for the roo. We only got one pullet out of four silkie chicks last year and the other two roosters went to a good home.

Update! The last chick is zipping as I write this. So far there is a purebred white silkie, three silkie Cochin crosses with super beautiful colouration, and a purebred Cochin. Waiting on the final chick!

Sounds like a lovely bunch! I ended up with 8/9 hatching. They are creasted cream legbars and that breed is autosexxing. I got 6 roosters :(

Oh no! That's unfortunate - sometimes we don't win the lottery with hatching. Glad your hatching rate was good though. The last one of mine turned out to be another purebred cochin so it rounds out the batch nicely. They're here for a few days and then of to their new home :) Then I'll get another batch in the incubator ;)
