Hello everyone,
I hatched my first (and only) chick last night around 8pm. I started with 9 eggs and this was the only fertilized egg in the batch. I got the egg from my parents, who raise hens and have one rooster. I’m pretty the rooster is a Welsummer because of the extra brown on the wing feathers, but I’m so curious who laid the egg. There are three possibilities. I will attach photos below. The first two photos are the chick, 1 day old. She has feathers on her legs. The next photo is the rooster. Then the hens. Is there anything that rules out any of these hens from being the mother? I’ll include a photo of the egg, too. I know it’s silly, but being my first time I’m just so curious
Thanks for any thoughts!
